The World Bank Approved US$12 billion to Fund Vaccine Purchases in Developing Countries
According to Bloomberg News on the 14th, the World Bank approved US$12 billion to fund the purchase and distribution of new coronavirus vaccines in developing countries and to arrange testing and treatment for their citizens.
In April this year, in view of the unprecedented challenges posed by the new coronavirus epidemic, the World Bank is expected to allocate 160 billion US dollars in the next 15 months to help countries protect the poor and vulnerable groups, support enterprises and promote economic recovery.
The above US$12 billion is part of it and will increase funding for the World Bank’s emergency health response project, which now covers 111 countries.
