Russia's First Batch of New Coronavirus Vaccines has been Put into Civilian Circulation and will be Delivered to Various Regions in the Near Future
From Russian Satellite News Agency on September 8th, on the 7th local time, the Russian Ministry of Health stated that the first batch of new coronavirus vaccine 'Sputnik-V' has passed the necessary quality inspections and has been put into civilian circulation and is expected to be delivered to various regions in the near future.
Russian Minister of Health Murashko announced that volunteers will be vaccinated with 'Sputnik-V' in the third phase of clinical trials. On the 6th, Moscow Mayor Sobyanin expressed the hope that most residents of Moscow will receive the new crown vaccine within a few months.
According to previous reports, on August 11, the Russian Ministry of Health registered the world’s first vaccine for the prevention of new coronavirus infection. It was jointly developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology and the Russian Direct Investment Fund. The vaccine was named 'Sputnik-V'. After registration, at least 20 countries (including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Mexico, Brazil and India) expressed interest in obtaining the vaccine. Russia plans to increase vaccine production to 200 million doses by the end of 2020 and provide 30 million doses to Russia.
