Turkey Announces to Approve Trials of Russian's New Coronavirus Vaccine
According to the Russian Satellite News Agency on the 2nd, Turkish Health Minister Fahletin Koka said on Wednesday that the Turkish authorities may soon approve a Russian vaccine test to combat the new coronavirus infection.
He said, 'We have received a request to test the Russian vaccine. I think we will issue a license for it in the near future. In addition, two domestic vaccines are currently being tested in Turkey.'
He added that the experiment will only be conducted on volunteers in Turkey.
The Russian vaccines registered on August 11 were tested on 76 volunteers in two institutions-Sechenov University in Moscow and Burdenko Military Clinical Hospital of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The third phase of Russian vaccine trials is currently underway, with about 2,000 people participating.
The Russian Ministry of Health emphasized that this vaccine, called 'Sputnik V', has gone through all necessary tests and has been proven to be able to build immunity against the virus. Western countries and some mainstream media still claim that this vaccine is unsafe and ineffective.
Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko emphasized that all foreign criticisms are based on fear of fair competition and criticized these accusations as unfounded.
