U.A.E. Approves New Coronavirus Vaccine for Front-Line Workers

On Monday September 14, the U.A.E. announced that it has approved the provision of vaccines for front-line workers.

UAE Minister of Health and Prevention Abdul Rahman Al Owais said that the results of the Phase III clinical trial showed that the vaccine is effective and can produce antibodies against the new coronavirus.

'The safety of the vaccine has been reviewed and the results show that the vaccine is safe.'
Dr. Nawal Al-Kaabi, Chairperson of the National Clinical Committee for Coronavirus, introduced the vaccine in detail at the briefing.

She said that 31,000 volunteers from 125 countries/regions participated in a six-week clinical trial of the vaccine and successfully tested the vaccine on 1,000 volunteers with chronic diseases.

'The initial results are encouraging, but related research will continue. Like any other vaccine, there are some minor side effects, such as sore throat, but no serious side effects or other complications.'
