40,000 Russian Volunteers will Participate in New Coronaviurs Vaccine Trial and must be Observed for Half a Year After Vaccination




On August 26, according to a report by the Russian Satellite News Agency on the 26th, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Health stated that 40,000 volunteers will participate in the trial after registration of the new coronavirus vaccine. Every volunteer must be observed for six months after vaccinated with the vaccine.

On August 24, the Russian Ministry of Health authorized the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology to transfer the trial after registration of the new coronavirus vaccine. The news said, 'There will be 40,000 volunteers over 18 years of age participating in the trial. Every volunteer must be observed for half a year after vaccination.'

Alexander Günzburg, Director of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of Russia and Gamaleya, stated that the Russian Federal Health Supervision Agency will inspect the mass-produced vaccines on the market. Vaccination work was started from time to time.

According to earlier reports by Russian media, the Russian Ministry of Health registered the world's first vaccine for the prevention of new coronavirus infection on August 11, which was jointly developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology and the Russian Direct Investment Fund. The vaccine was named 'Sputnik V'.
