Russia Claims to Share Vaccine Information with the United States, but the United States Looks Down on it and says It will not Use it Even for Monkeys


CNN reported that Russian officials in Moscow told CNN that they have provided 'unprecedented cooperation' to the US White House’s 'Quick Action' team for the newly launched COVID-19 vaccine. A multi-agency cooperative organization established for vaccines and treatments.

In May, Trump announced in the Rose Hall of the White House the establishment of the White House 'Action Quick' team. The former GlaxoSmithKline executive Moncef Slavi will serve as the Chief Scientist of this action. Gustav Pena, the General served as the Chief Operating Officer of the operation. The goal is to develop a vaccine and provide it to the American public by January 2021.

But these Russian officials said that 'the United States is currently not open to Russia's medical progress'.

A senior Russian official told CNN, 'There is widespread distrust of Russia in the United States. We believe that because of this distrust, the United States has not adopted Russian technology, including vaccines, tests and treatment methods'.

White House spokesperson Kelly McKenney said on Thursday that he had briefed President Trump on the new Russian vaccine. She said that US vaccines are subject to 'rigorous' Phase III clinical testing and high-standard audits.

Other U.S. officials told CNN that Russian vaccines are considered semi-finished products in the United States, so that they did not attract serious interest in the United States before they were promoted.

A US government public health official said, 'It’s impossible for the United States to try this (Russian vaccine) on monkeys, let alone humans.'

Russian officials told CNN that Russia is open to sharing vaccine information and will allow US pharmaceutical companies to produce Russian vaccines in the United States.
