The National Research Council of Canada : The Two Sides have Ended Cooperation Because CanSino has not been Authorized to Deliver Vaccines

On August 26, local time, Reuters and the Canadian 'The Globe and Mail' reported that the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) said on the same day that it had terminated its research and development with the Chinese company CanSino Bio  on the cooperation on the new coronavirus  vaccine. The latter does not have the right to deliver the vaccine.

In May of this year, CanSino agreed to cooperate with the NRC to ship the vaccine under development to Canada for vaccine testing.

According to 'The Globe and Mail', the National Research Council of Canada stated in an e-mail statement that the vaccine candidate was shipped to Canada without Chinese customs approval. The statement said that before signing the agreement with Cansino, Beijing Institute of Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology, which provided funds to Cansino, reviewed the NRC. 'After signing, the Chinese government modified the process of delivering vaccines to other countries.'

The NRC further stated in the statement, 'The committee is not yet aware of the authorization process, but CanSino has not obtained the authorization to ship vaccines.'

According to Reuters, the NRC stated in a statement to it, but due to the delay in authorization, the NRC 'has since then begun to focus our team and facilities on other partners.'
