Head of Russian Vaccine Research and Development Agency : The West is Trying to 'Seduce' Russian Scientists

CNBC reported on August 17 that the head of the Russian vaccine research and development agency claimed that Western research institutions are trying to 'seduce' Russian scientists to work for Europe and the United States.

Alexander Günzburg, director of the Russian National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, said that attempts to hire scientists from Russia to work in Europe and the United States were unsuccessful.

The TASS news agency quoted Günzburg in an interview with Russian TV Channel One on Sunday, saying, 'Our researchers have been working at the Gamallea Research Center for 10 years .. .any American or European university only I can dream of having such researchers. And they are trying to lure them away. But they will not succeed.' Günzburg did not provide evidence for his statement, nor did he mention any specific institutions.

According to the Russian Satellite News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Health registered the world's first new coronavirus vaccine on August 11, which was jointly developed by the Gamallea National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology and the Russian Direct Investment Fund. The vaccine was named 'Sputnik V'. Dmitriev, president of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said that the fund has received applications from more than 20 countries to purchase 1 billion doses of vaccines.
