German Minister of Health : Russia's New Coronvirus Vaccine is At Risk, If It Fails or 'Strangles Vaccination Acceptance'

Reuters news on August 12, German Health Minister Jens Spahn said on Wednesday that Russia’s new coronavirus vaccine has not been fully tested, adding that the goal should be to have a product that has been tested and proven to be effective, not just being the first country to vaccinate people.

Spahn said, 'It may be dangerous to start vaccinating millions or even billions of people prematurely, because if something goes wrong, it may almost stifle the acceptance of vaccination. I am concerned about what happened in Russia. Very skeptical.'

Spahn said that during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to conduct appropriate research and testing and make the results public to give people confidence in the vaccine.
